I'll take option C, Linux. :-P I love Ubuntu Linux -- free, rock stable and powerful. Applications use a package manager, so installing and updating stuff doesn't require being a computer genius. Need to use a Windows application? Use wine. Or just virtualize windows (running Windows in a window on top of Linux.) And you don't have to spend a fortune on hardware to get good results.
