So I'm curious what y'all think about it. The age of consent is lower in the EU than in the US, in EU it ranges 14-16 (with Ireland alone being 17), in US it ranges from 16-18. In the UK where the poster is from the AoC is 16. Even tho it's legal for someone older than 16 to have sex with a 16-year-old (even if that person is 40), should it be changed or should it be kept the way it is? Also in the EU some countries AoC is 14 or lower in some cases, for example I'm Hungarian and while the AoC is 14 official, we have multiple of them (12,14,18) and we use a "border system", where you can have sex legally within your own age group and those bordering you. (Actually no one is allowed to have sex with anyone under 12, but if you are under 14 you are immune to Statutory rape so in regality you can).

I think it depends on how old said person is. I mean being 16 youre old enough to decide what u want or what u dont want. If its a 40 year old then its hell problematic, but if the person like around the same age, maybe 1 or 2 years older then i *think* it could be fine. Or it could just be a 16 year old searching for a 16 year old. I honestly cannot comment further on this without further context.
