Yeah, combinations are a great idea! Just make sure to do all of those exercises correctly - if in doubts better consult someone with proper knowledge, otherwise you may do more harm than good! If you follow the schedule and instructions, you will be fine though
No quick way, as far as I'm concerned Sit ups are good - many combinations, if you have a bar rising straightened legs is helpful. Running is a great way to expose what you have there.
I share Pokemon's point of view, I'd feel weird in a speedo, just not very comfortable ;D But I get the higiene thing, even if it seems a little bit farfetched. Here mostly the outdoor pools don't care what you swim in, as long as you don't push it, of course. But when it comes to indoor pools if you wear shorts, they can't be longer than to your knees and even then sometimes the lifeguard can give you a warning.
